Arabic Sign Language (ASL)

About Us & Our Aims:

We are an international team of hearing and Deaf volunteers aiming to:

• Translate the entire 'Islamic Knowledge' and 'Islamic Culture' into every sign langauge*.
  
• Facilitate and address the needs of the Deaf people who wish to worship Allah and serve the humanity.

* Every country has its local sign langauge, so we need to repeat the work n every country. Click here to see them all here.

Current Priorities:
1st Priority:  Fundraising for the Arabic Sign Language (ASL) at www.WayyakTV.com to finish the Quran in ASL.
2nd Priority: Export the ASL Quran model to British Sign Langauge (BSL).
3rd Priority:  Export the whole process in the second priority above to EVERY sign langauge.

Steps:
1) The first stage of this project will be focused on converting the basics of the Islamic teachings into BSL and then upload it to this web site so that any BSL user can view it online and benefit from it as long as it is on this web site.  This is a very overdue task! 

2) BSL Quran: Translating the Holy Quran into BSL(already started..click here for more information)

3) Future stages will aim at translating the main Islamic teachings into BSL (Quran, Hadith, Seerah, Fiqh, History,  etc..etc.).

Difficulties:

Some of the big difficulties which we are facing:

• Lack of resources (money) to translate many chapters of Islamic knowledge into BSL.
• Finding enough helper who are highly skilled in IT and web design.

We hope to  have something like (or better than) ‘youtube’ where deaf people can learn all aspects of Islam and access the meaning of the holy Quran in BSL.  

 

The benefits and rewards of this project are on-going in time and space...
